The Essex Craft Guild is a voluntary non-profit making organisation which promotes and supports genuine hand-made local Arts and Crafts.
JOIN THE GUILD
FULL MEMBERSHIP
Full Guild Membership is open to anyone who lives in Essex, who hand makes their craft and has gone through the selection process. It is not available to those who live abroad, those who hold a craft franchise, or who import or sell craft goods made by others.
The Guild Directory lists those crafts in which our current members are engaged. However, this list is not exhaustive and we are always pleased to consider applications for other crafts, provided that they demonstrate a high level of skill and expertise. Please note that we do not accept applications for health and beauty or aromatherapy products, nor for any foods except Sugarcraft. APPLICATION TO JOIN FULL MEMBERSHIP £38/per year
PLEASE NOTE that registration forms should reach the Membership Secretary by 31st December or 31st May as appropriate . Please be assured that the information you provide will not be used for any other purpose than to send you a full application form, and will not be passed to third parties. Only ONE craft may be applied for each year, at a cost of £10.00 per application.
Currently the first year’s membership fee is £38.00. Please do not send any money with your registration. Amounts due will be requested with the selection pack. The Guild’s Selection Evening takes place twice each year, in January and June. Successful applicants are then included straight away in the next edition of the Guild Directory, instead of waiting till the following year. You will be notified of the outcome of the selection evening after the event. If your application has been successful your username and password for the members area of the website will be emailed to you upon your acceptance.
Guild Friends
Guild Friends are individuals who are interested in craft and who wish to support the Guild and its members. Guild Friends receive invitations to Guild social events and are offered free admission to the main Guild Show each year, as well as being kept up-to-date with what is happening by way of newsletters from time to time. There is a fee of £10 which can be paid via bank transfer once your application has been approved. To apply, please complete the Guild Friends application form. You will recieve an email acknowledgement with payment details.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership is offered to craft groups in Essex whose aims are similar to those of the Guild. Associate Members receive invitations to Guild Social events and are offered a display area at the Guild’s main show each year. Their details are also displayed on the Guild website to encourage new members and a reciprocal link with their own website. There is an annual fee of £35 and we ask to see a copy of your organisations Constitution. To apply please complete the Associate Member application form. You will receive and email acknowledgement with payment details.
